The DeLorean Motor Company (DMC) was founded in 1975 by John DeLorean and produced a single model, the stainless steel DeLorean sports car with iconic gull-wing doors, from 1981 to 1982. Despite its short history, the DeLorean gained fame as a time machine in the Back to the Future film trilogy. In 1995, mechanic Stephen Wynne revived the brand in Texas, acquiring remaining parts inventory and registering a new "DMC" logo
